We strongly advise against self-drive tours in Botswana for travellers without extensive 4×4 driving experience or formal training in advanced 4×4 driving. 

​Botswana’s Safari Destinations lack infrastructure such as roads, emergency hospitals, and cell phone signals, making the area a true wilderness with challenging terrain and minimal civilisation. this region can be unforgiving if you become stuck in mud or sand, run out of spare tyres, or need emergency medical assistance. Therefore, Botswana is not suitable for inexperienced mobile camping travellers.
